Nominations for the British Independent Film Awards were released last week and our Film lawyers are extremely proud that 13 of their clients’ productions are up for nominations. Between Free Fire, The Girl With All the Gifts, Notes on Blindness, Trespass Against Us, Couple in a Hole, Under the Shadow, I Am Not a Serial Killer, Supersonic, The Passing, The Levelling, A Patch of Fog, Urban Hymn and The Greasy Strangler, the productions we have worked on have racked up a total of 32 nominations. We wish our clients the best of luck at the BIFA ceremony on 4th December.

Last week, Jeremy Gawade, Partner in the Film & TV Group, chaired a panel of industry experts at the European TV Drama Series Lab. The panel provided advice and guidance to leading scriptwriters, creative and executive producers and broadcasters on the costs and budgets of international productions. The series, sponsored by Creative Europe, provides participants with exclusive insights into every aspect of the industry, with a particular focus on understanding the mechanisms behind the success of American drama series and the ability to adapt this knowledge to European market realities.
