As 2024 wraps up, it’s the perfect moment to reflect at Lee & Thompson and celebrate what has been a remarkable year for so many clients.

Firm

  • Luke Carey in our Film & TV Team was promoted to Partner, and we welcomed two new faces to the Partnership, Andy Moseby and Nick Swimer, as well as nine other new joiners across the firm’s legal and business services teams, taking our headcount to 118 for the first time.
  • We delivered 25 broad-ranging events at our home in Fitzrovia, from seminars to fundraisers and meet-ups for our contacts across the creative sectors.
  • We reached our £10,000 fundraising target for our previous Charity of the Year, Women’s Aid, and have so far raised over £4,550 towards our current, Campaign Against Living Miserably. Watch this space!

  • Myles Smith awarded BRIT Award Rising Star and BBC Introducing Artist of the Year
  • Olivia Dean making her Pyramid Stage debut at Glastonbury
  • Yussef Dayes wins Ivor Novello Award for Best Album
  • Shed Seven’s 2 UK no. 1 albums in 2024

Film & Television

  • Oscar and BAFTA glory for The Zone of Interest, a British film produced by the firm’s longstanding client, James Wilson and Executive Produced by our own Reno Antoniades.
  • Releases of “The Brutalist” – awards hopeful, premiered at Venice (winning Silver Lion) and “Bird” – awards hopeful, premiered at Cannes
  • “Beckham”
  • “Love Lies Bleeding”
  • Production of “All Before You” – UK/Palestine/France co-production, supported by the BBC and BFI
  • Production of “The Ballad of a Small Player” – Good Chaos film for Netflix
  • Five films we advised on are nominated at the 2025 Golden Globes following a triple win for our clients at this year’s British Independent Film Awards. At the major festivals, we’re delighted to have seen fifteen films selected at Toronto and London 2024, as well as two announced at Sundance 2025.

Dispute Resolution

  • Clearance work on the Robbie Williams biopic “Better Man”, written, co-produced and directed by Michael Gracey (Greatest Showman)
