Christos Debates the Evolution of Film Deals and Business Affairs

1st July 2021

Christos Michaels, Head of our Film Group, spoke today on a global ScreenDaily Talks webinar which unfolded how independent filmmakers and producers navigate through the fast-changing world of deals, contracts and business affairs, as VoD platforms take hold.

Key areas explored included what the trends in sales are for theatrical and VoD, how minimum guarantees are evolving, what filmmakers need to consider regarding contracts, and how indie filmmakers can react.

Christos was joined on the panel by Wendy Bernfeld, founder and managing director, Rights Stuff (Netherlands); Louisa Dent, managing director, Curzon Artificial Eye (UK) and Ryan Kampe, founder and president, Visit Films (US), moderated by Wendy Mitchell, contributing editor of Screen International.

Lee & Thompson is delighted to support the ScreenDaily Talks series. The panel talk was designed as an industry session running as part of an online programme during Cannes Film Festival 2021, delivered through BFI-backed We Are UK Film, an initiative representing the UK film industry at key international festivals and markets.
