Emma Teichmann


Emma joined Lee & Thompson in 2017, and is an Associate in the firm’s Dispute Resolution Group.

Emma graduated from the University of Oxford with a degree in Philosophy, Politics and Economics before converting to law. She trained at Hogan Lovells, qualifying into their IP department in 2013.  In 2015, Emma left for the London Screenwriters’ Festival, where she gained invaluable commercial experience as a producer and in-house lawyer, combining her passion for film and law.

Emma advises individuals and corporate clients on  a wide range of contentious matters, including intellectual property, general commercial and defamation disputes. She has advised several household names in relation to potential infringements of their copyright, trademarks, domain names and passing off rights, and has worked with clients to combat instances of counterfeiting, including close coordination with government authorities such as Trading Standards and PIPCU.  Emma’s practice also includes managing IP portfolios and providing strategic advice on the protection and exploitation of IP rights, including film clearances.
