Lee is a partner in the Film & TV group at Lee & Thompson.
His clients encompass film and television production companies for whom he often structures complex international co-productions, individual talent where he works closely with their managers and agents, rights management companies encompassing both sales agents and distributors, post-production houses who also double up as equity investors, and some of the UK’s leading independent film financiers investing in a vast number of both European and North American productions, with a particular emphasis on bridge and senior lender gap financing. Lee is particularly proud of advising production on the multiple award-winning drama “Adolescence”.
Lee has long-standing expertise in the Indian film and television industry, regularly advising on both Bollywood and independent Indian productions seeking to take advantage of the UK’s locations, cast, crew and tax credits, as well as advising UK and overseas producers working in India. Lee & Thompson’s long-standing sponsorship of the London Indian Film Festival is a testament to Lee’s reputation in the Indian film and television industry.
In addition, Lee does a significant amount of animation work, from animated features to pre-school television programmes, as well as regularly advising productions on documentary features with a particular emphasis on music and sporting content.
Lee joined the firm in 2000 having worked for in-house at Endemol UK (now part of Banijay Entertainment). He is regularly invited to speak at industry seminars and on discussion panels.
