A Film & TV lawyer, Sam works with producers, sales agents and financiers, bringing a responsive and organised approach to complex film and television deals. Sam has experience across the lifecycle of projects, assisting with contract negotiation, deal structuring and closing documentation.
Sam is an Associate in the Film & TV department where he advises on finance and production agreements and supporting clients through complex contractual arrangements. He has gained hands-on experience on high-profile television and independent film projects, f with strong knowledge of the commercial and legal considerations that shape transactions in film and TV. His career highlights include working on notable projects such as The Apprentice, Rose of Nevada, The Choral and This City is Ours.
Sam enjoys helping clients bring projects from early-stage development through to production, ensuring their commercial objectives are met while navigating industry complexities. He is known for his responsive and organised approach, as well as his enthusiasm for film and television, which informs his work and client relationships.
Prior to completing his training contract in 2026, Sam worked as a paralegal in the Film & TV team, where he developed a practical understanding of the independent production landscape and its commercial pressures. He also brings transactional experience from his time as a legal assistant at a large regional law firm.
Sam holds a dual honours degree in History and History & Philosophy of Science from the University of Leeds, where he contributed to the Film Society and attended regional film festivals. His degree helped develop strong analytical and research skills, which he now applies to complex legal and commercial issues. He went on to complete the GDL and the LPC with an MA in Law, Business & Management at the University of Law, achieving a distinction.
