An experienced trade mark attorney with over 30 years of practice dealing with all aspects of non-contentious trade marks, designs and domain name issues across the globe as well as representing clients in contentious proceedings before the UKIPO, EUIPO and WIPO for clients across the creative industries. Known for extensive knowledge of trade mark law and practice.

Helene joined the firm in 2023, bringing experience in representing clients in trade mark, design and domain name issues from the creative sectors (including across technology, entertainment/leisure and fashion) as well as having experience in the F&B, healthcare, beauty, energy and HR sectors.

Helene has a wealth of experience in trade mark portfolio management, enforcement of trade marks before UK/EU Intellectual Property Offices and advising on infringement and domain name issues. Helene enjoys resolving disputes between parties but particularly enjoys finding solutions in the trade mark world that avoids those disputes arising.

Since joining Lee & Thompson, Helene has resolved, amongst others, a dispute between a computer games company and a much larger publishing company, a dispute between a beauty company and a large competitor in a similar field and has helped a fashion company with the management of its trade mark portfolio.

Helene was an examiner for the trade mark examinations before joining the CITMA/CIPA Joint Examination Board (Chair from 2009-2011). She then served on the CITMA Council from 2014-2016, during which time she chaired both its Review Publication and Domain Name committees.

Helene qualified as a Registered Trade Mark Attorney and as a member of the Institute of Trade Mark Attorneys in 1994. She is a Chartered Trade Mark Attorney  and Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Trade Mark Attorneys (elected 2005). Helene also has 2:1 BSc in Psychology from the University of Leeds.
