Partner, Head of Dispute Resolution

Dominic is an experienced and pragmatic lawyer with a focus on dispute resolution and regulatory compliance in the creative industries. He advises clients in complex contractual and intellectual property disputes, director/shareholder matters, corporate governance and risk, and regulatory compliance and enforcement. He is known for his technical ability, strategic thinking and his ability to “get to the heart of a problem”.

Dominic leads the firm’s Dispute Resolution team and is a member of our Intellectual Property and Marketing & Advertising groups.

He works primarily with clients in the creative industries, notably marketing and advertising, interactive entertainment, theatre, film & TV, sport/sports entertainment, music, publishing and technology. He also works with clients in many other sectors including financial services, events and hospitality, design, and art.

He advises clients in complex contractual and intellectual property matters, director/shareholder matters, corporate governance and risk, and regulatory compliance and enforcement (including advertising regulation, data protection, ecommerce, anti-bribery, money-laundering, and AI).

Drawing on his dispute resolution experience, Dominic regularly advises on content and product clearance, risk assessment and mitigation strategies, internal investigations, and on thorny issues of contract negotiation and termination. He works closely with all our specialist industry sector teams, and is just as comfortable working with in-house legal teams and C-suite executives, as he is with business owners, commercial teams, and individual talent.

Dominic has considerable experience working with international clients and frequently works alongside overseas lawyers on cross-border issues.  Prior to joining Lee & Thompson, Dominic was head of the IP, Media & Technology Group in the London office of international law firm, K&L Gates, and was a partner at a highly respected boutique media litigation firm, Forbes Anderson Free.

He has a thirst for new areas of law, and passion and curiosity for talent development and nurturing inclusive and high performing teams.

Dominic studied at the University of Sheffield and the College of Law (London). He is a member of INTA (International Trade Mark Association), The Society of Computers and Law, The Alliance of Independent Agencies.
