A film and television lawyer specialising in studio and independent projects. He acts for production companies and financiers across both scripted and unscripted work. With a background in filmmaking himself, Alastair combines commercial acumen with an understanding of clients’ creative needs, to close deals effectively and solve complex problems with pragmatism.

Alastair is an expert film and television lawyer with experience advising across the full production cycle (from early-stage development, to production, financing and exploitation) of both studio-backed and independently financed projects. He acts for producers, financiers and talent-led production companies, helping clients structure, negotiate and close complex deals.

Alastair regularly advises on international projects, working extensively with clients in the US and in Europe. He has a particular expertise in navigates complex European co-productions and frequently speaks at industry events on the subject, offering practical insights into the challenges and opportunities of international collaborations.

With his own experience in producing award-winning short-films, Alastair brings a perspective which allows him to anticipate the needs of both creatives and financiers. Clients value Alastair’s clarity, responsiveness and pragmatism, making him a trusted advisor throughout the industry.

His recent work includes handling production and financing legals on film and television projects such as “Animol”, “Brides”, “Wilderness”, “Sisu 2”, “Dreaming Whilst Black”, “The Critic”, “Borges & Me”, “Small Town Big Story” and “500 Miles”.

Alastair read History at the University of Nottingham before studying Law, then trained and qualified at Norton Rose Fulbright in 2017, joining Lee & Thompson at the start of 2018.
