James is a partner in our award-winning Music group where he advises emerging and established artists, producers, management companies, record labels and executives. Since joining the firm in 2021, he has developed a client base with a particular focus on representing new talent.
James is passionate about music and has built a wide network of industry contacts and broad commercial knowledge to help advise clients on their careers and growth plans.
Prior to joining Lee & Thompson, James gained in-house legal experience from record label Island Records where he worked across a roster of new and internationally renowned artists across the roster for five years.
James studied Law at the University of Manchester before completing a training contract at a City firm and qualifying as a solicitor in 2015.
