Senior Associate, Dispute Resolution

As a Senior Associate in the Dispute Resolution group, Sophie represents clients across the entertainment and media sectors on a broad range of contentious matters.

Sophie regularly advises on defamation cases and assists with protecting the reputation of some of the firm’s highest profile clients. She also carries out pre-broadcast copyright and libel clearance work for producer clients in respect of major feature films and television series.

Sophie represents claimants and defendants in intellectual property cases and contractual disputes. She also advises clients on brand protection enforcement matters. Recent highlights include acting for Justin Bieber and Harry Styles to protect their intellectual property rights against infringing third parties.

Sophie joined Lee & Thompson in 2020 following her time at City firm DLA Piper, where she completed her training contract. As part of her training, Sophie carried out a six-month secondment at Unilever, focusing on intellectual property issues.

Sophie has written articles for Entertainment Law Review, The Reporter, CITMA Review and LexisNexis.

Passionate about diversity and inclusion, Sophie is the Junior Champion of Lee & Thompson’s Women’s Network and is a mentor for the social mobility charity, GROW Mentoring.
