Dispute Resolution Partner, Martyn Bailey and Legal Director Frania Cooper have recently secured a successful outcome for golf-playing client, Steve Harvey, in his dispute with Bromborough Golf Club.

Mr Harvey claimed in court proceedings that his membership of Bromborough Golf Club had been terminated unlawfully, and sought reinstatement to the club and compensation. He was readmitted to the club and received a substantial financial settlement in an out of court settlement.

This follows Martyn Bailey’s publicly reported success in 2019 for another client who had been wrongly expelled from the prestigious Sunningdale Golf Club and was reinstated and received damages following a trial.

Martyn commented: “In recent years, we have seen a growing trend in individual members of golf, tennis, sports and other private members’ clubs taking legal action to be readmitted to clubs from which they have been wrongly expelled. We have a proven track record of obtaining readmission for such members, and encourage anyone in a similar situation to get in touch”.
