An experienced commercial film and TV lawyer advising independent producers and talent on legal and business affairs aspects of film, television and other audiovisual content projects, across development, production, financing and exploitation. Antony is a trusted advisor and problem-solver, working with clients collaboratively and strategically to best deliver practical, commercial results.
Antony is a partner in the firm’s Film & TV group with extensive experience in representing leading independent producers and other talent in connection with legal and business affairs aspects of both independent feature film and streamer/studio productions. He also works closely with clients on high-end television productions and premium SVOD commissions. He has worked on a variety of international co-productions and commissioning arrangements involving co-operation with producers, financiers, sales agents and distributors across Europe, North America, Asia and the rest of the world.
Over the last few years, Antony has developed a growing specialism in areas of specific interest, including life rights adaptations, biopics and feature documentary projects, particularly in the worlds of music and sport. He represents producers, rights owners and other talent in these areas, with extensive experience of deal-making and commercial considerations.
Antony is a member of L&T’s working group for AI transformation in the creative industries, and alongside other production counsel, has recently assisted PACT with negotiations on developments in this area.
Amongst many other experiences, Antony has represented production on an Oscar and BAFTA-winning film (Jonathan Glazer’s “The Zone of Interest”), dealt with the biggest band of his teenage years, Oasis (Mat Whitecross’ “Supersonic”) and even represented his one and only football club, Tottenham Hotspur (Amazon’s “All or Nothing”).
Together with Luke Carey, Antony formed and runs the L&T “NextGen” Producers Collective, a supportive community for emerging and established independent screen producers intended to support ambitions, encourage mutual collaboration, share collective knowledge, champion inclusion and emerging talent, and bring creative people together in a non-competitive, nurturing way.
Antony is ranked independently by Legal 500 as a recommended individual and a “Next Generation Partner” in Media & Entertainment. He is a regular speaker at industry events, provides training and mentoring for emerging producers via the James Walker Legacy Award, National Film & Television School, ACE Producers and Film London, and appears on panels at film festivals in Berlin, Cannes, Glasgow and London.
