Lee & Thompson’s Nick Swimer, Lee Stone and Esme Briggs were at the 2025 Watersprite Film Festival in Cambridge on Saturday, to run an “Ask The Lawyers” panel discussion, along with Spelthorne Community TV CEO, and former Head of Comedy and Entertainment at Channel 4, Andrew Newman.

It was a packed auditorium who attended the panel discussion to hear  key legal considerations in the world of Film and TV, specifically exploring the critical aspects of intellectual property, rights clearance and contract negotiation as well as upcoming changes and risks in the industry.

Watersprite Film Festival is the world’s largest student film festival, and supports emerging filmmakers from around the world, working to offer accessible education, create opportunities, foster community and link emerging filmmakers with industry professionals by breaking down the barriers and hierarchies of traditional networking.
