As 2025 wraps up, it’s the perfect moment to reflect at Lee & Thompson and celebrate what has been a remarkable year for so many clients.

Firm
- Alastair Mavor in our Film & TV Team and Michael Lucas in our Music Team were promoted to Partner and we also welcomed Rebecca Coleman to the Partnership, as well as seventeen other new joiners across the firm’s legal and business services teams, taking our headcount to 119 for the first time.
- We delivered 28 broad-ranging events at our home in Fitzrovia, from seminars to fundraisers, writer sessions and meet-ups for our contacts across the creative sectors.
- We surpassed our £10,000 fundraising target for our previous Charity of the Year, CALM by 10%, and so far have raised £15,092 for our current, Children with Cancer UK. Watch this space!
Music
- Acted for Simon Cowell in his project launching a new boy band in Netflix series “The Next Act”
- With “The Boy Who Played The Harp”, Dave became the first British rap act to debut three albums at Number 1 in the Official Albums Chart
- Myles Smith played the NFL’s halftime show in Dublin
- Following the release of her album, “The Art of Loving”, Olivia Dean became the first British woman to have four songs in the UK Top 10
Film & Television
- Our team worked on over 75 film and television productions over the year
- 46 productions were recognised at festivals and award ceremonies
- “The Brutalist” won 3 Oscars, including one for Best Original Score for music client Daniel Blumberg
- “Adolescence” made history at the Emmy Awards 2025, with Owen Cooper becoming the youngest male actor to win an Emmy
- “My Father’s Shadow” was nominated for 12 BIFA and is the UK’s foreign submission for the 2026 Oscars
- “Molly-Mae: Behind It All” won Best Authored Documentary at the National Television Awards
- Three films we advised on are nominated at the 2026 Golden Globes and seven were recently announced for Sundance 2026
Trade Marks
- Registered over 250 trade marks
- Working on the trade mark portfolios for Next15, Hachette Book Group Inc and Victoria Beckham Limited
Corporate
- Our Corporate team advised on a number of landmark deals including advising It’s All Made Up Productions on an investment by Avalon and advising Firecrest Films on its sale to Channel 4’s Creative Investment Fund
