Women’s Day 2024 at L&T: Confidence, Female-Directed Films and Walking Overnight for Women’s Aid

8th March 2024

On International Women’s Day 2024, Lee & Thompson is promoting this year’s theme “#InspireInclusion” through the following initiatives.

A key pillar of this year’s theme is the promotion of diversity in decision-making positions, and we believe this starts with empowering female talent within our own four walls. So, our internal Women’s Network called on executive coach, Kirsten Goodwin, to deliver a confidence workshop to all L&T females at our office on ‘How imposter syndrome can hold you back (and what to do about it)’. The interactive session reinforced important soft skills and tools to help overcome self-doubt and ultimately flourish in the workplace and beyond.

The photo above shows L-R Kirsten Goodwin and L&T Associate Sophie Anim from our Women’s Network.

Today, our Women’s Network has compiled some resources for all our staff, some of which amplify of the voices and important work of female filmmakers. This is in recognition of IWD 2024 organisers highlighting the importance of the entertainment industry (particularly film) in shaping societal perceptions and attitudes. Do get in touch if you’d like us to share these must-see film recommendations!

Finally, our brave team of 13 hikers completed a Marathon Night Hike challenge across London on the dawn of International Women’s Day today at 5am, in aid of our charity of the year Women’s Aid. If you can contribute any amount you can afford, it’s a gruelling 42km challenge worthy of sponsorship for Women’s Aid, which this year celebrates five decades of lifesaving work to end domestic abuse.
