Lee & Thompson experts deliver National Film & Television School programme

12th December 2017

We were delighted to continue our long standing relationship with the National Film & Television School by again hosting its latest two-day ‘Entertainment Programming: Business Affairs & Industry’ module this week.

The practical, cutting-edge talks delivered by Lee & Thompson’s legal experts spanned the creative entertainment fields of film and television and music. The topics were designed to offer participants a thorough understanding of programming across these sectors: How to establish your own indie; Structuring a commercial deal in relation to licensing/optioning a format to an indie; Production contracts and rights; Securing clearance on intellectual property for a TV production; Approaching financial agreements and commissioning terms with the UK’s mainstream TV networks; and Music agreements, licensing and publishing.

Participants were also given talks by experts from BBC Worldwide, UK TV, So Television, Zig Zag Productions and the NFTS.
