Tim is a lawyer in the firm’s Music Group.

Tim has specialised in music and entertainment law since qualifying as a solicitor in 2006. After training in the city at Baker & McKenzie, Tim commenced his music industry practice at Russells, where he primarily acted for businesses operating within the music industry, including major and independent record labels, publishing companies, production houses and management companies. Tim moved to Harbottle & Lewis in 2010, where his practice broadened to include a greater number of clients from the talent side of the industry. Whilst at Harbottle & Lewis, Tim undertook a secondment to a multinational company, assisting on the content acquisition side of their business.

Tim joined Lee & Thompson in 2013 and has since seen a further shift towards representing musical talent, including producers, writers and recording artists. As a Senior Associate in the Music Group, Tim enjoys working both with companies and individuals who have had a longstanding involvement with the industry, and also with new and emerging talent who are at the outset of their careers. He regularly advises his clients on, and negotiates and drafts, core music industry contracts including recording, publishing, management, production and live performance agreements, as well as contracts pertaining to his clients’ ancillary rights, including merchandise, branding and sponsorship.

Tim regularly attends numerous industry events, including MIDEM, SXSW and The Great Escape and is a frequent panellist at Music Managers Forum events.
