Huw Morris Joins as Partner

1st August 2017

We are delighted to announce that Huw Morris has joined the partnership today.

Huw joins Lee & Thompson from Reed Smith where he headed up the firm’s UK Advertising Group.

Huw will play a significant role in the growth of Lee & Thompson’s presence in the marketing and advertising sector. He has extensive experience advising clients on the full spectrum of advertising related matters including copy clearance, regulatory investigations, intellectual property, digital, media buying and planning, talent and content acquisition, and sponsorship. He acts for clients including global FMCG brands, national and international advertising and creative agencies, industry associations, retailers, charities and the largest LGBT social network app in the world.

Before Reed Smith, Huw worked in the legal team at the Institute of Practitioners in Advertising, where he advised a wide range of UK advertising agencies.

Managing Partner, Reno Antoniades said:

“We are delighted to welcome Huw to the Lee & Thompson team. His practice perfectly complements that of our existing Marketing & Advertising practice, giving greater depth to our presence and reputation in the sector. His skills and client base will contribute significantly to our firm wide drive to offer the full spectrum of legal services to clients across the creative industries. We are looking forward to Huw’s anticipated contribution to the firm.”

Huw Morris said:

“Lee & Thompson’s reputation in the creative industries is second to none. With increasing cross-over between the creative sectors, the firm’s strength across the board will be hugely important to my practice. Lee & Thompson feels like the right home for me and for my clients.   I am excited to see the opportunities that this new challenge will bring.”

Huw’s arrival is another important hire in the firm’s plans to create a full-service practice dedicated to the media, technology and creative industries. This ambition has been demonstrated by the firm’s recent appointment of new Head of Digital, Julian Ward from Hamlins, together with last year’s merger with specialist media litigation firm Forbes Anderson Free and the appointment of Head of Employment, David Andrews from Wilmer Hale.

Huw’s arrival brings the total number of Partners to 24.
