The bakers among us donned their aprons, set their over timers and filled their piping bags to compete in Lee & Thompson’s very own Bake Off extravaganza. In preparation for the hotly anticipated final of The Great British Bake Off, we chose to line up our baked goods and sell them to colleagues and clients alike to raise money for our newly chosen Charity of the Year, Cancer Research UK.

Never has so much cake been eaten in such a short space of time causing a sugar high only rivalled by a 3 year old’s birthday party. But it was all for an amazing cause and we managed to raise £190.28 which the firm matched to make a grand total of £380.56 for CRUK.

CRUK was voted by the firm as this year’s Charity of the Year and The Lee & Thompson Bake Off was the first in a series of fundraising initiatives that the firm will be undertaking for the charity in the coming year.

“I’d imagine that everyone at this firm has been affected by cancer in one way or another and I am delighted that Lee & Thompson can play a small part in helping this amazing charity to save lives through the incredible research that it funds and awareness that it raises. We will continue to hold fundraising events like today’s Bake Off throughout the year in a bid to raise as much as we can for such an important cause. Well done to all our bakers and eaters. Great effort!”
