L&T 2023 Vacation Scheme marks fifth year of work experience programme

7th July 2023

Today we come to the end of our annual week-long work experience Vacation Scheme for a group of aspiring media lawyers.

Crafted to offer the group a taste of life as Lee & Thompson lawyers, our Vacation Scheme’s structured learning and development workshops encouraged participants to experience office working, networking and team collaboration. Another key side of the programme was the individual exercises, scenario-based group challenges as well as dealings with partners, legal directors and associates across our Film, Television & Games, Music, Corporate & Commercial and Dispute Resolution departments. Softer elements weaved through the week’s structure – these included engaging icebreakers, overviews of our business operations and social opportunities beyond the office. Crucially, the programme facilitated interaction with around half of our total firm headcount.

Designed by Lee & Thompson’s active Inclusion & Belonging Network, the Vacation Scheme programme was set up in 2019 to open our doors as wide as possible to a more diverse talent pool and hopefully inspire future solicitors that working in a specialist law firm for the media and creative industries is an attainable and appealing prospect.

Our 2023 Vacation Scheme welcomed eight participants and a ninth attendee on the opening day. The participants who joined us this year were Alice Jenner, Charlotte Lau, Hannah Cassidy, Harriet Hudson-Brightmore, Kye Li Ong, Rafiat Adeniji, Theo Halpern and Tom Holloway.
