August was a whopping month for our Music Group clients with successful releases, astounding festival performances and sell-out tours hitting the headlines.

Not only did the brilliant FKA Twigs reach No. 1 in the Independent Singles Chart but she was also nominated in the AIM Independent Music Award along with London Grammar (signed to Ministry of Sound). And One Direction has become the first act to break through the $200m mark for concert ticket sales this year following the band’s 10-week trek around Europe and North America which is set to finish in Miami in October.

Meanwhile the line-up for September’s hugely popular iTunes Festival has been announced and will include performances from 5 Seconds of Summer, Luke Sital Singh, Paolo Nutini, Jess Glynne, Jessie J and MNEK. And if their performances at the Video Music Awards were anything to go by, Jessie J and 5 Seconds of Summer are set to impress the iTunes crowd. The VMAs were the culmination of an amazing few months for the 5 Seconds of Summer boys who secured the coveted number 1 album spot in the US (Billboard 200) and achieved the biggest debut album of the year.

In other news, Queen’s ‘Once in a Lifetime’ tour is heading to Australia and New Zealand following a summer touring the US and Asia and Lily Allen has announced her UK Headline Tour dates for November and December. And on the classical music front, we have recently taken on the great Alfie Boe while long standing client Katherine Jenkins has announced that her 10th solo album ‘Home Sweet Home’ will be released in November.
