Lee & Thompson was delighted to take part in the premier media consultancy MediaXchange‘s esteemed strategic forum for the business of international TV drama, Business & Legal, in its latest knowledge exchange online programme of talks last week.

Against a backdrop of a spate of indie producer acquisitions by major international distributors over the past year, Lee & Thompson consultant Jeremy Gawade spoke on the opening panel on the topic of ‘Enter the Dragons: Independent production company consolidation’, drawing on his wealth of industry of expertise in putting projects together, to help weigh up the pros and cons of the current buying spree and consider how TV producers can genuinely benefit from the move to consolidation.

Jeremy spoke alongside Element Pictures’ Andrew Lowe, Ringside Studios’ Gub Neal and All3Media’s Steven Brown. Moderating the discussion was Angus Finney, Cambridge University/Dancing Fox Entertainment.

Over 100 members of the professional global TV industry community joined to share knowledge, experience and strategies, facilitating international co-production business interests in the global marketplace

Participants included TV producers, writers, MDs, business and legal affairs and senior industry figures from 19 territories (Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Iceland, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Serbia, South Africa, Sweden, Ukraine, UK and US).

Demonstrating a real recognition of the importance of the subject and quality of the speakers, the attendees ranged from global streamers and national TV industry bodies across the participating territories to major and independent TV producers, distributors, funders and agencies:
