Lee & Thompson backs video games charity tournament

11th July 2019

Fantastic causes have a way of bringing people together.  The video games industry demonstrated a shining example of this at a recent gaming industry football tournament, organised to raise money for SpecialEffect, a charity which enhances the life of people with disabilities using video games and adapted technology.

The charity provides accessible gaming consoles and computers for accident victims, service personnel with combat injuries, people with congenital and progressive conditions, and stroke patients. Tournament fee donations currently stand at £1,400.

Lee & Thompson sponsored one of the participating teams, Jagex Games Studio supported by our Head of Video Games, Julian Ward.  Also coming together to play at the tournament in Oxfordshire were teams from Xbox and one of the US’s largest gaming studios, EA.
