Earlier today, the premier scripted television drama body MediaXchange invited Jeremy Gawade to talk on a webinar for the international production community about the changing nature of talent deals for writers, actors, directors and the effect they are having on the TV drama business, budgets and beyond.

The webinar was part of a wider programme of talks through MediaXchange’sThe Business of Scripted’ online series.  During the talk, Jeremy drew upon his decades of expertise in putting together finance, distribution and production deals for drama projects alongside Banijay Finland‘s Chief Legal Officer, Liina Laiso.

Following on from today’s webinar, Jeremy will be interviewed for a report by EBU Media’s Drama Initiative on his vision of different commissioning models from a producer’s perspective. The EBU aims to foster coproduction and producer access to European high-end broadcaster drama as the market experiences significant disruption from commercial on-demand global platforms and their report will be released at the end of this year.
