L&T wraps up sixth year of Vacation Scheme

5th July 2024

Today marks the end of our annual week-long work experience programme for a group of aspiring media lawyers.

First launched in 2019, our Vacation Scheme was crafted to offer a taste of life at Lee & Thompson through structured learning and development workshops. The programme includes individual exercises, scenario-based group challenges including an ethics exercise and a pitch presentation, as well as time spent across our Film, Television & Games, Music, Corporate & Commercial and Dispute Resolution departments, introducing participants to partners, legal directors, associates and trainees. Facilitating interaction with around half of the firm, the week’s structure also integrated engaging icebreakers, overviews of our business operations and social opportunities beyond  word-based exercises.

Designed by Lee & Thompson’s active Inclusion & Belonging Network’s Recruitment & Access Strand, our Vacation Scheme programme was set up to open our doors as wide as possible to a more diverse talent pool, and we are proud that Sevine Dandan was our first Vac Scheme participant to qualify as a solicitor at the firm, with Shay Kennedy and Neha Tarabadkar set to qualify upon completion of their training contract this September.

Our 2024 Vacation Scheme welcomed an  8-strong group of brilliant individuals, selected through a very competitive process– Alexej Volz, Esme Briggs, Freddy Gummer, Jacob Branigan, Jiayi Chong, Julian Camu, María Almánzar Dihmes and Sanya Sethi.
