We are delighted to welcome a new Employment team to Lee & Thompson.

Partner and new Head of Employment, James Baker, joined the firm this week from Teacher Stern where he held the same position and Associate Martin Tynan will arrive in September from Penningtons Manches Cooper.  James and Martin join Associate April (formerly Efrat) Gordon and will boost our existing employment practice with their experience and strong client base.

James has over 20 years’ experience as an employment lawyer, most recently heading up the Employment team at Teacher Stern which he joined in 2009.  His work covers all aspects of contentious and non-contentious employment law with a particular emphasis on business protection and confidentiality, TUPE, negotiating the beginning and end of employment relationships for employers and senior executives and day-to-day employment advice for businesses and individuals.  Legal 500 describes James as ‘a superb player to have on your team’ in its most recent edition.

Martin has acted for individuals, corporate clients, and staff associations and their members, advising on a broad range of employment law matters. Before qualifying as a solicitor in 2017, Martin worked as a paralegal at a leading UK film production and distribution company.

Reno Antoniades, Managing Partner, said:

“We know that the industries in which we work and the individuals who work in them are facing the most challenging pressures of their professional and personal lives.  We hope that this enhancement of our employment practice will provide the resource and expertise to support our clients in managing and overcoming any of the challenges that they are facing.”
